First job outside of real estate: My marketing career began when I was exposed to the wonderful world of television production.  I started in college as a system installer for businesses like New York Life to build up satellite television studios to broadcast business news and employees communications. This lead to successive projects in producing, directing and editing a wide variety of broadcast, advertisement and industrial programs for many years.

First job in real estate or allied field: For most of my career, I have worked in the chemicals, energy and pharmaceuticals industries as an internal and external marketer. Having great exposure to product development and manufacturing processes provided a rich understanding of location, location, location. As a marketer,  I have produced many campaigns that feature the physical assets (plants, R&D facilities…etc.) of a company to showcase the depth of product development and local servicing to increase brand equity. 

What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? My current job is really split in two: branding and marketing. At NYGC, we are pushing the brand throughout our existing referral based and client networks to different verticals and geographies. Taking NYGC nationally is a strategic process and delivers great rewards when opening business in a new state. 

Marketing supports all facets of sales and branding as well as providing new avenues of business development.  In the future, we plan to deliver more transparency on the various programs that are offered through city (munipal), state and federal government agencies to better educate our existing and potential clients. We have already begun this process by producing webinars on such topics through our “Show Me the Money” webinar series.

How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? I have always used road biking to strip-away the days challenges.  Normal rides are 30 – 45 miles that usually trek across the GWB and up route 9W and back.  Crossing the GWB back into the city provides great panorama’s of an ever changing landscape.

Favorite book or author: Malcom Gladwell – David and Goliath

If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead, but not related to you) who would it be and where would you go?  I would to take Abraham Lincoln to Hill Country Barbeque to expose him to modern living in our great metropolis while enjoying the delicious fare that Texas has inspired.
