Professional Profiles

Professional Profile: Nicholas Farmakis 2006

  • Title: Associate Director
  • Company: Studley, Inc.
  • Location: Midtown, Manhattan
  • Birthplace: Manhattan, 1977

Family: Married (May. 2006)
College: Boston University
First job outside of real estate: Studley was my first job out of school (1999)
What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? I am primarily responsible for new business development on behalf of my team in the representation of corporate tenants in New York City. I look forward to continuing to create business opportunities for Studley and providing excellent service to my and the firm’s clients.
Hobbies: Hockey, boxing, biking, poker
Favorite book: “Atlas Shrugged”
Favorite movie: “Shawshank Redemption”
Person you admire most (outside of family): Martin Luther King Jr.
Keys to success: Listening and learning. There’s an abundance of knowledge available all around us, and not always in the most obvious places. One benefit of living in New York is the constant exposure to a wide range of experiences, philosophies and actions. At the same time, It’s important to weigh what you hear and observe with what you believe as an individual.
If you had to choose another vocation what would it be? I’d like to be a carpenter. Real estate is so abstract much of the time that it would be rewarding to spend many hours working on a project and seeing tangible results that you can be proud of.
